It seems like for every web hosting company that claims to have the fastest and most secure service; there’s another claiming to be even better. The result is that choosing the right service to host your website becomes a nightmare. It doesn’t help that the internet is crawling with fake reviews on the subject.
The NameHero vs Hostinger dilemma is a common one. I realized this, so I set out to help readers like you.
I recently purchased both services and tried all their key features. My experience with them helped me compile a detailed review that covers the following points:
- Main features
- Security and privacy measures
- Pricing
- Support
- Extra features
Don’t think you can find the time to read every detail? Here’s the major gist to help you decide right away:
The main difference between NameHero and Hostinger Hosting is that NameHero provides better server resources (RAM, SSD storage, and bandwidth) than Hostinger. It also uses more secure servers. Hostinger is a faster and more affordable option, making it ideal for WordPress blogs and low-traffic websites.
So, if you need a business site, you should try NameHero. If you would prefer a personal WordPress blog, you should try Hostinger. You can also check our detailed analysis on whether Hostinger is good for WordPress or not.

I’ll start by taking you through all the key features offered by both NameHero and Hostinger.
NameHero
Web Hosting Key Features
If there were one big factor to consider before buying a web host, it would be the quality of the features that accompany its hosting. It can be divided into four parts:
- Available hosting types
- No. of websites allowed
- Monthly bandwidth cap
- RAM (mostly useful for dedicated servers)
Hosting types have two main categories: shared hosting and dedicated hosting. With shared hosting, your website uses the same resources as other sites on a given server.
This means that one site might end up using way more RAM, bandwidth, and CPU than the other sites, adversely affecting their performance.
A way to avoid this is to get yourself a dedicated server or its resources. That way, you’re allocated specific RAM and processors on one or several servers.
Shared hosting is ideal for hosting local business websites and personal blogs. It is also a more affordable option.
For NameHero, we’ll start with the four hosting types available: Web, Reseller, VPS, and Cloud Dedicated Servers.
Web and Reseller fall within the shared hosting scope. However, Reseller allows you to sell some of your resources to 40 – 100 clients and provide each with their own account. If you’re a web developer, digital marketer, or designer, it’s the ideal way to upsell better.
The VPS and Cloud hosting are dedicated in nature. There’s a difference, though. With VPS hosting, you don’t get the full physical server; however, significant resources will be dedicated to you.
Cloud Dedicated Servers hosting, however, offers you fully-customizable servers for a higher price. All of NameHero’s dedicated resources plans provide from 2GB to 8GB RAM for VPS and 8GB to 62GB RAM for Cloud.
Now that you understand the service’s hosting types, its’s time to explore their general features. In terms of site allowance, you can host 1 to unlimited websites, depending on your plan.
Monthly bandwidth starts from 500GB and caps at 10TB. That allows your site to send and retrieve tons of data as people use your site.
Storage
You need storage space to save your website’s images, videos, files, and other forms of data. That’s where server storage comes into play. It could be HDD or SSD (or NVMe). Most web hosts use SSD as it uses a newer and faster technology.
You can get 30GB to 900GB of SSD storage. From my experience, not many hosting providers can offer such huge capacities. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Still, on keeping site data, you may need somewhere to store inventory lists, web polls, customer feedback, leads, etc. Creating several databases can help you achieve this. NameHero allows for unlimited databases on all plans.
Performance
Site performance has to do with speed (load and response times) and uptime. Speed affects both user experience and search engine rankings, while uptime determines how often your hosting servers are down (unresponsive).
Most web hosting services claim to have an uptime of 99.5% or more, and even they acknowledge that emergencies or scheduled maintenance could lead to some downtime.
So, I ran several tests on NameHero’s servers and discovered the following:
- Test site load time: 0.74s to 1.15s
- Response time: 100ms to 500ms
- 100% in last month
These numbers are better than what most hosting providers can offer.
Site performance also depends on the server’s physical location. The closer your target audiences and customers are to your data center, the faster their load and response times. NameHero only has servers in two countries: the USA and Netherlands.
Interface
NameHero uses the cPanel as the default control panel, which makes managing website hosting way easier, even for customers with no tech experience. I found it easy to use.
Hostinger
Web Hosting Key Features
Hostinger has a great setup for its seven hosting plans, which are Shared, WordPress, Cloud, VPS, and more.
Their Shared and WordPress (managed hosting) plans will have you using the resources on the same server as others.
Both the VPS and Cloud hosting plans are dedicated in nature. They both use partition technology to give customers specific and closed resources from a pool of servers. However, there are differences.
With VPS, you get root access to your server, but with Cloud, you don’t. I strongly recommend you choose Cloud (without root access) if you don’t have server tech experience or can’t hire someone who does.
VPS hosting plans offer 1GB – 16GB RAM and Cloud, 3GB – 12GB. All plans allow from 1 to unlimited websites per account with 100GB/month to unlimited bandwidth. These resources are significantly less than what NameHero is offering.
Storage
You get 20GB to 300GB SSD storage with Hostinger web hosting plans. You’re also allowed from 2 to unlimited databases.
Again, Hostinger falls short with its server resources. NameHero offers better storage on their servers.
Performance
So far, it wasn’t looking too good for Hostinger, but after testing their speed, I got some interesting results:
- Test site load time: 0.8s to 1s
- Response time: 25ms to 244ms
- Uptime in the last month: 100%
These show that Hostinger is well significantly faster than NameHero.
Checking their data centers and server locations yielded even more positives for the hosting company. Hostinger has servers in 7 countries:
- the USA
- the UK
- the Netherlands
- Lithuania
- Singapore
- India
- Brazil
Interface
The company uses its own control panel, a user-friendly software called hPanel. I found it as easy to use as cPanel.
For more information, you can check the detailed Hostinger review.
🏆 Winner is: NameHero
This was close, but NameHero took a narrow win thanks to its superior server resources, which was enough to neutralize Hostinger’s better site performance.
NameHero vs Hostinger: Web Hosting Security & Privacy

Domain Privacy | Yes ($5.98 per year) | Yes ($5 per year) |
When you create websites on a web host’s server, they must ensure that your site’s and visitors’ sensitive information don’t get compromised.
I explored all the security measures that came with my premium packages with NameHero and Hostinger.
NameHero
SSL Certificates
An SSL certificate will encrypt your website’s content and connections, keeping them away from third parties.
NameHero offers a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate for every website you host on the platform.
Server Security
Security features are the best way to safeguard the data of everyone using the servers. NameHero provides Security Shield, cloud software that provides the following perks and more:
- Web Application Firewall to detect attacks
- Malware protection by scanning files in real-time
- Reputation monitoring to check for possible Google flags
Backups
You need to back up your website’s content and settings if you want to stay safe. Trust me, something as simple as a plugin installation can ruin a lot (writing from experience here).
With NameHero, I got daily backups, which was cool. You can get the same no matter what plan you choose.
Domain Privacy
When you register your domain, your registrar may need certain personal info, which is standard practice. The problem is this info (name, address, phone number, etc.) will become stored in the WHOIS directory and available to the public.
To protect us from spammers and scammers, most hosting providers offer domain privacy which hides all your personal info in the WHOIS public database.
For $5.98 a year, you’ll get domain privacy with NameHero.
Hostinger
SSL Certificates
Hostinger gives a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate on all plans, irrespective of price. You can check our guide on how you can install SSL on all Hostinger plans.
Server Security
I got mod_security and PHP protection (Suhosin and hardening) modules to safeguard my website.
Backup
You can get from weekly to daily backups depending on your plan and its price tier.
Domain Privacy
I also got domain privacy on Hostinger for $5/year.

No matter the quality of a Saas product, you should always have reliable support on-demand. That brings us to our next round.
NameHero
With my NameHero account, I got access to email ticket support. There was also 24/7 live chat support. I tried both and got a response within 24 hours.
Perhaps the most impressive feature was the phone support, which can be rare to find in the hosting industry.
If you need a super-quick answer, check out their info-rich tutorials and FAQ sections.
So, I still needed to get the opinion of other users for the most unbiased NameHero support assessment possible.
To find this, I went over to Trustpilot (a platform that doesn’t allow fake reviews) and inspected 20 of their latest customer support reviews. Of the 20, 19 were excellent and only 1 was bad.
It’s clear that NameHero offers excellent support.
Hostinger
Things didn’t fare so well with Hostinger. They had 24/7 live chat and email ticket support with a fast response time.
They also had great tutorials and FAQ sections. However, there was no provision for phone support.
Also, I discovered 14 excellent and 6 bad Trustpilot reviews for Hostinger. They obviously offer good support, but it needs improvements.
🏆 Winner is: NameHero
They have a great live chat and support ticket system from a higher-quality team.

FAQ
Summary – Hostinger vs NameHero 2024
If I were to choose the better service, I’d say NameHero is the winner. The hosting provider offers abundant server resources from its basic to enterprise plans. NameHero will be a good choice for just about any website size or requirement.
Against NameHero, Hostinger only shines when it comes to affordability. In fact, I would recommend it if you need a small website that you believe will remain small for the foreseeable future.
Even if your site becomes a big deal late on, Hostinger is good enough to house it once you upgrade packages.
You should try either NameHero or Hostinger with complete confidence as they both offer 30-day money-back guarantees.
